Transitioning to a cyber resilience approach

Cyber resilience involves the capability to predict, endure, recover from, and adapt to adverse situations and breaches within systems that rely on or are enabled by digital resources.

A cyber resilience approach considers security from a holistic perspective, recognizing the complexity in planning and response. It emphasizes the importance of collaborating among different system elements, such as computing platforms, networks, business applications, personnel, and procedures.

The Cyber Centre promotes cyber resilience as a strategy to help owners and operators of IT systems that support business operations mitigate the potential impacts of cyber events. As operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) increasingly connect to the Internet and depend on IT systems, a cyber resilience approach becomes crucial for critical infrastructure (CI) owners and operators to secure their OT and ICS.
